Gestational Diabetes Nutrition Support
Calm, clear guidance for navigating gestational diabetes
A gestational diabetes diagnosis can feel overwhelming—suddenly food, numbers, and decisions feel loaded with pressure.
If you’re trying to understand what this diagnosis means without falling into fear, restriction, or self-blame, you’re in the right place.
You didn't cause your gestational diabetes.
This isn’t a test of willpower, discipline, or how “healthy” you eat.
Gestational diabetes is influenced by pregnancy hormones, genetics, and factors largely outside of your control. Blood sugar numbers are not a grade; they’re information meant to guide care, not define you.
Most importantly: there is support. With clear, compassionate guidance, it’s possible to manage gestational diabetes in a way that supports your health without fear, restriction, or losing trust in your body.

You may be wondering...
I was just diagnosed with gestational diabetes and feel overwhelmed. Where do we start?
We start by slowing things down.
A gestational diabetes diagnosis often comes with a flood of information and pressure. Together, we’ll sort through what actually matters, focus on the basics first, and build a flexible plan that fits your life. You don’t need to do this perfectly to be taking good care of yourself and your baby.
Do you specialize in gestational diabetes?
Yes. Supporting clients with gestational diabetes is a key focus of my practice.
I bring both professional training and lived experience, and I work from an evidence-based, compassionate approach that prioritizes nourishment, blood sugar support, and emotional wellbeing.
Will I need to follow a strict meal plan?
No. I don’t use rigid meal plans or one-size-fits-all rules.
Instead, we focus on understanding how food, timing, and combinations affect your blood sugars—and how to apply that information in ways that feel realistic, flexible, and sustainable for you.
Can I still eat carbohydrates?
Yes. Carbohydrates are an important part of pregnancy nutrition.
Rather than eliminating carbs, we look at balance, portions, timing, and pairing—so you’re eating in a way that supports both blood sugar stability and adequate nourishment.
What if I need medication or insulin?
Needing medication is not a failure.
Gestational diabetes is driven largely by hormones and placental changes—not willpower. If medication becomes part of your care, I support you in understanding your options and making informed decisions without shame.
Is it possible to manage gestational diabetes without harming my relationship with food?
Yes. Protecting your relationship with food is an important part of my work.
We pay attention not just to blood sugar numbers, but also to stress, fear, restriction, and how this experience feels in your body and mind. You deserve support that cares for the whole picture—not just the data.
